Batuan Sedimen Klastik

Batuan Sedimen Klastik terbentuk akibat pengendapan kembali detritus atau pecahan-pecahan batuan asal, dapat berupa batuan beku, sedimen atau metamorf.

Berbagai macam proses yang terjadi sebelum terbentuknya batuan sedimen klastik, diantaranya :
1. Pelapukan (Weathering) yaitu proses yang merubah ukuran dan komposisi dari batuan dan terjadi dekat permukaan bumi akibat perbedaan temperatur dan iklim.

Batuan Sedimen (sedimentary rocks) merupakan batuan yang terbentuk akibat pengendapan bahan rombakan batuan hasil denudasi, desintegrasi, reaksi kimia ataupun hasil kegiatan organisme, yang mengalami sementasi dan kompaksi (litifikasi).

Proses kompaksi pada umumnya terjadi akibat terbebaninya lapisan akibat sedimen yang berada diatasnya, sehingga menyebabkan hubungan antar butir menjadi lebih dekat dan juga air yang terkandung dalam pori-pori lapisan tertekan keluar.
